Removing the double arrows in the Start menu,
Favorites, and other places


In Windows Vista, XP or Windows 2000

  • Right click on the Taskbar and click the Properties command.
     

  • Click the Start Menu tab.
     

  • On the Start Menu tab, click the Classic Start menu option and then click the Customize button.
     

  • In the Customize Classic Start Menu dialog box, scroll through the list of Advanced Start menu options. The last one should be Use Personalized Menus. Make sure there is NOT a check mark in its checkbox and click OK.
     

  • Click Apply and then click OK in the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog box.
