Windows XP Service Pack 2 Change

If you are getting a message that Your Antivirus status is Unknown, do the following:

  1. Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel
  2. Double Click on Security Center
  3. You should see a window like the one below open.
  4. Click on Recommendations under Virus Protection

  1. Check the box I have an antivirus program that I’ll monitor myself (see picture)

  1. You should then see the Virus protection say Not Monitored (as below). You’re fixed!
